The veterinary world is leading the way in using 3D Printing to create miracles.

The latest - a macaw with a deformed beak which has been given a new 3D titanium prosthesis during delicate surgery in Brazil.

Gigi’s shorter-than-normal beak meant she couldn’t eat solid foods properly – now she can thanks to delicate surgery by vets at CETAS Unimote Animal Research training and rehabilitation centre in San Paulo.

There’s another bonus – it appears that Gigi had previously been kept in the macaw equivalent of a puppy farm despite her deformed jaw so that she could breed.

Now – she can eat real food and not be forced to produce eggs.

If you’ve ever lost a pet and thought you’d never see it again – here’s a heart-warming story.

A 5 month old Border Collie puppy called Jasmin, who disappeared from a Perth home in January has turned up on a cattle station on the opposite side of the country in north-west Queensland.

Acting on a tip-off, Mt Isa police raided a cattle property at Cloncurry, just outside the city and found the missing pup.

A 20-year-old woman has been charged with bringing Stolen Goods into Queensland and will appear in court shortly.

The Cloncurry Stock and Rural Crime Investigation Squad had been investigating the theft of the dog, which was stolen from a Perth property.

Detectives recently received information indicating the 20-week-old had been taken across the country to Cloncurry, near Mount Isa, and seized the dog yesterday.

A 20-year-old woman was issued a Notice to Appear in the Cloncurry Magistrates Court charged with bringing stolen goods into Queensland.

Pig- Adelaide Now

Photo: Salisbury Council
Original Story: Adelaide Now

It’s not every day that Adelaide folk get to see a pig. Let alone a pig that’s trotting down one of their main city streets – yet that’s what happened this week.

Police were called and took the porker into custody, handing the fully grown porker wearing a collar and lead into Salisbury Council.

Where this story gets interesting is that the Council announced their find on Facebook and also added a photo asking the owners to pick up their pig – the only thing is they mentioned they didn’t know whether the porky pig was a boy or a girl… check out the photo and tell us whether you agree she’s a sow!
